shop4support is set out to reform how we spend our money in social care. Partnered with In Control we have set out an ambitious task to influence and change people’s thinking of social care and personal budgets.
We outsourced the development to overseas developers and communication to these was key as all the design work and front end coding was developed in house.
Although this site has been deployed and live, this project is constantly on-going and my day to day job is to maintain it and work with our business analysts to keep improving and upgrading it.
Further challenges included having to provide 16 separate style sheets for accessibility reasons ranging from contrast and text size changes. Although a Javascript version was possible, the developers where keen to use .NET’s theme features. The design process went through user group meetings with actual end users for valuable feedback. A consistent, clean navigational feature was introduced as a result.
